A Milestone for Digital Inclusion in Hong Kong!

Special recognition to Kevin Orr, Chairperson of the SIE Fund Task Force and Director, International Federation on Ageing

75 senior volunteers helped to officially launch of the “Smart Silver” Digital Inclusion Programme for Elders – an initiative led by the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (SIE Fund) – aimed at empowering elderly citizens through digital literacy.

The Hong Kong SAR Government once again showed global leadership through $100 million committed to support digital training and technical assistance for those aged 60 and above over the next three years. This initiative will benefit over 100, 000 elders across all 18 districts with the support of 12 appointed NGOs.

Special recognition to Mr Kevin Orr, Chairperson of the SIE Fund Task Force, who emphasized the power of cross-sector collaboration in creating a society where seniors can confidently explore the digital world. His dedication is inspiring, and his vision for digital inclusion is helping reshape what “healthy ageing” truly means.
